Imarisha Kenya Society Founded in 2014, is a non-governmental organization dedicated to enhancing community health and well-being. For over a decade, we have been at the forefront of impactful health interventions, focusing on HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment, maternal and fetal health, and adolescent advocacy. Our mission is to empower communities with the knowledge, resources, and support they need to lead healthier lives.

We believe that every individual deserves access to quality healthcare and the opportunity to thrive. Our approach is community-centered, ensuring that our programs are relevant, effective, and sustainable. Through education, advocacy, and direct healthcare services, we are committed to creating positive change and inspiring hope.

OUR INITIATIVES


We are driven by the need to address critical health challenges through targeted initiatives that create lasting change:

1. HIV/AIDS Prevention and Treatment

We are committed to reducing the spread of HIV and supporting those affected. Our programs focus on:

  • Community education and awareness campaigns to prevent new infections.
  • Access to testing, counseling, and treatment services.
  • Support groups and empowerment programs for people living with HIV.

2. Maternal and Fetal Health

We strive to ensure safe pregnancies and healthy beginnings for mothers and their children by:

  • Providing prenatal and postnatal care education.
  • Supporting safe childbirth practices and maternal health services.
  • Promoting infant nutrition and early childhood health.

3. Adolescent Advocacy

We empower young people with the knowledge and resources they need to make informed health decisions, including:

  • Sexual and reproductive health education.
  • Mentorship and counseling programs to support adolescent well-being.
  • Advocacy for youth-friendly healthcare services and policies.

Margret Mwangi

Founder Imarisha Kenya Society 

Margret Mwangi, a dedicated nurse, founded Imarisha Kenya Society to improve community health. Driven by her passion for education and advocacy, she created an organization focused on HIV/AIDS prevention, maternal health, and adolescent support. Her vision and commitment continue to inspire our mission for healthier communities.  

Lucy Lau

Organization Treasurer  

Lucy Lau is a strong woman with a profound passion for community development. With experience dating back to 2004, she began her journey by founding her own CBO, Tosheka. Her dedication to empowering communities and her wealth of experience make her an invaluable asset to Imarisha Kenya Society.  

Luciana Achola 

Organization Secretary 

Luciana Achola, a dedicated nutritionist, is the youngest member of our team. Her profound love for adolescent girls and children drives her passion for community health and empowerment. As Imarisha Kenya Society’s Secretary, she brings energy, expertise, and a strong commitment to improving lives.  

Gerald Githinji

Board Member 

Gerald Githinji is a dedicated leader serving in the Kenyan government with a strong commitment to community health. His unique connection with Imarisha Kenya Society stems from our shared vision of a healthier Kenya. His leadership and expertise play a vital role in driving our mission forward.
